If your Xbox is connected to Wi-Fi but has no internet, you likely need to clear a captive portal. Using a NeverSSL-style page is the most reliable way to do this.
Captive portals work by intercepting your web traffic and redirecting you. This is much easier for them to do with unencrypted HTTP traffic. HTTPS traffic is secure and resistant to this kind of interception.
